Rumors about the Media Center
1. The books that are boxed are all going away.
Truth: We have boxed the books to keep them cleaner during construction. They are NOT going anywhere but back on the shelves once the shelves are moved and securely in place.
2. The Media Center will be closed all this school year.
Truth: Although construction and testing may make it seem like we are closed, the Media Center is open for use BEFORE SCHOOL ONLY even during these times. Students are limited to the front part of the library (where the computers and new books are) while we are under construction and during testing. After the shelving has been moved and books have been returned to the shelves, students will be allowed to get books from this area as well.
3. Students must have a hall pass to be in the library.
Truth: Except for before school, students must have a hall pass to be in the library EVEN DURING LUNCHES. This is a policy change from last year. This was changed due to students sneaking food into the media center as well as being too social and loud which prevented others from studying. Students must now obtain a hall pass from one of their teachers if they have a legitimate reason to be in the library. Once the construction is complete, there will be a link to a Permanent Library Lunch Pass on this site that can be printed and filled out. A limited number of passes will be available and will be revoked if the rules are not followed. Students granted this pass will be given a laminated card which contains their picture and should be shown to exit the cafeteria after the student has eaten their lunch. FOOD IS NOT ALLOWED in the Media Center, even with the lunch pass.
